The story opens with Hunter building a device that will aid his father with his mobility issues. Hunter discovers a magical creature in the garden, which needs help reuniting with his parents on the Immortal Isles of the Magical Beings. Hunter enlists the help of his aunt, Martini Thyme to get them to the Isles, but the king's Magic Finder, Arlo Knucklebutt has other plans for the creature. He desperately wants it. Arlo pursues them to the end of the magical contentment to capture them.
